We offer limited on call emergency or urgent care service to our clients. We hope to offer a more personalized and economical emergency visit with care given by people you know. Dr. Ashley will be available on Weekends Sat/Sun from 12 PM to 6 PM. (there may be days or times that Dr. Ashley is not available, even during the on call time slot- please be understanding that circumstances may not allow her to take call every time and to utilize the emergency center as discussed below) ****The emergency service is NOT available Mon-Fri effective May 1, 2012
**Please be advised that this service is for urgent care only (no appointments, prescription refills, or any other services that can be handled during regular office hours- these calls will not be returned and abuse will result in removal of access to emergency services). After you have dialed the emergency cell phone number (850 270-3068), please leave a voice message that includes your full name (name pet is registered under at Cordova), your pet's name,the nature of your emergency, and your contact phone number. Dr. Ashley will be texted, will review your medical record, and return your phone call if she is available. If you do not receive a return call within 10 minutes, please proceed to the emergency hospital on Davis Hwy. Due to the nature of some emergencies and/or Dr. Ashley's availability, clients may still be advised to seek after hours care at the Emergency Hospital on Davis Hwy.
There will be an after hours emergency fee of $75 (payable at the time of visit) plus any diagnositics, treatments, or medications. Billing arrangements are not available in most cases.
Post Op Surgeries, planned C-sections or chemotherapy patients: The emergency fee is waived for after hours care for these patients (for care related to this specific problem)
If Dr. Ashley is unable to see your emergency (you do not receive a return call within 10 minutes) OR if your emergency is urgent (example but not limited to: Gastric Torsion, Hit by Cars, Difficulty Breathing, snake bite) we recommend that you contact the Veterinary Emergency and Referral Center in Pensacola. They are located at 4800 N Davis Hwy- the phone number is 477-3914
Emergency cases at the VERC may be treated as outpatient or admitted overnight for diagnostics and treatment. The following morning, all emergency cases will be discharged for follow care at Cordova Animal Medical Center. If an emergency occurs, please call our office at 479-2222 and alert us that your pet was seen at the emergency clinic so that we can schedule appropriate follow up care. Surgical procedures, ultrasounds, continued hospitalization can be performed at our hospital by your regular doctor for lower cost and continuity of care. While there may be special circumstances that require your pet to remain at the emergency center, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can formulate a treatment plan for your pet.
